

Transition to Post-Secondary Education Fair
High school students with 504 Plans and IEPs and their parents will learn about making a successful transition into post-secondary education. Administrators and counselors from various colleges will discuss numerous aspects of vocational training and academic learning and will also address concerns from students and parents. College representatives as well as IU13 staff will teach the concept of self-advocacy and will outline the steps for accessing disability support services in a post-secondary school environment with a focus on learning disabilities, psychiatric disorders, and physical disabilities. Representatives from post-secondary schools will be available from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm to answer questions.

Target Audience: High school students with 504 Plans and IEPs in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, educators, parents, and agency representatives within the Lancaster-Lebanon county service area.
Presenter(s): Disability service coordinators, post-secondary admissions representatives, post-secondary advisors, IU13 staff, and representatives from area social service agencies.
