Transition to Post-Secondary Education Fair

April 23, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

This event is designed for high school students with 504 Plans or IEPs and their parents to gain valuable insights into transitioning successfully to post-secondary education. Administrators and counselors from various colleges will provide an in-depth discussion on vocational training, academic opportunities, and address specific concerns from both students and parents. Additionally, college representatives and IU13 staff will present strategies for effective self-advocacy and outline the steps to access disability support services in a post-secondary environment, with a particular focus on learning disabilities, psychiatric conditions, and physical impairments. Representatives from post-secondary institutions will also be available from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm to answer any questions.

Presenter(s): Disability service coordinators, post-secondary admissions representatives, post-secondary advisors, IU13 staff, and representatives from area social service agencies.

Facilitator: Pam Overmeyer, Special Education Consultant, Lancaster-Lebanon IU13.

Target Audience: High school students with 504 Plans or IEPs in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, educators, parents, and agency representatives within the Lancaster-Lebanon County service area.

Limit: 300 attendees.

Cost: None. Lunch not provided.
