Professional Learning Opportunities

IU12, IU13, & IU15 would like to welcome all instructional technology educators from any region to join us for a great morning of collaboration in eastern Pennsylvania. We will kick off the morning with an overview of the agenda and engaging activities to build inter-IU relationships. The rest of the morning will be in an open spaces edcamp format to share and discuss with others with a common focus and/or passion in the educational technology field. All Instructional coaches/specialists who facilitate and support instructional technology are welcome and encouraged to attend.

This workshop is designed for administrators, principals, assistant principals, and instructional coaches, providing resources to demonstrate leadership, support educators, and promote student-centered learning. Participants will learn to use tools like walk-through forms, success criteria, action planning tools, and feedback forms to guide coaching conversations and enhance instructional practices. *Participants invited to attend by their district under an established contract are welcome to register at no additional cost (costs are already included in the established contract). For participants who want to attend a workshop outside of a previously established district contract, the cost is $79 for IU13 district participants and $99 for non-IU13 district participants.

Previous cohorts/attendees who have participated in previous station rotation or hybrid workshops will reflect on current practices and collaborate to create student-centered learning environments. Through personalized strategies like reflective practices, goal-setting, and planning, educators will learn to implement evidence-based, future-ready practices that prioritize their learners' needs and interests. *Participants invited to attend by their district under an established contract are welcome to register at no additional cost (costs are already included in the established contract). For participants who want to attend a workshop outside of a previously established district contract, the cost is $169 for IU13 district participants and $199 for non-IU13 district participants.

This professional learning series prioritizes student-centered learning, starting with a focus on the station rotation learning model. Participants will gain hands-on experience and strategies for implementing personalized and individualized learning approaches through the three learning modalities: direct, small group instruction; focused independent work; and effective collaborative learning. In this 2-day workshop, attendees will engage in various instructional activities and strategies with direct applications in classrooms including active learning strategies and learner-centered techniques. *Participants who are invited to attend by their district under an established contract are welcome to register at no additional cost (costs are already included in the established contract). For participants who want to attend the 2 day series outside of a previously established district contract, the cost for IU13 Schools/Districts is $399 per a person and Non-IU13 Schools/Districts is $424 per a person.

Participants will have the opportunity and time to explore a variety of Computer Science tools and equipment available in the IMS Lending Library, and interact with other educators to brainstorm hands-on classroom uses for integrating Computer Science and STEELS standards. This hands-on session will provide certification for the IMS Lending Materials which includes the StarLab portable planetariums, the AR/VR mobile device kits, and the TransfrVR headsets.

Join the IU13 AI in Education Taskforce-a collaborative initiative dedicated to exploring the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in the K-12 educational landscape. Our task force brings together a diverse group of educators, including teachers, administrators, technology directors, librarians, instructional coaches, and technology coaches, to work together in understanding and leveraging AI technologies to enhance teaching and learning experiences. Our Goals: Foster Collaboration: Create a dynamic community where educators from various backgrounds can share insights, strategies, and best practices for integrating AI into the classroom. Understand AI's Potential: Investigate the capabilities and applications of AI in education, focusing on personalized learning, data-driven decision-making, and innovative instructional methods. Professional Development: Provide ongoing training and resources to help educators become proficient in AI technologies and their implementation in educational settings. Pilot and Implement: Develop and execute pilot programs to test AI tools and methodologies, gather feedback, and refine approaches for broader adoption. Join us for a FREE (for IU13 districts) 2-hour make-and-take workshop designed for school districts to delve into the foundations of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. The first hour will be an engaging, hands-on session where participants will go through the foundational concepts behind AI in education, explore practical applications, and create simple AI projects. This will be followed by a second hour dedicated to collaborative planning, where educators will receive the presented slide deck to make any district-specific changes in order to use as a presention to their faculty, ensuring they leave with actionable plans to educate about AI

These POC collaborative meetings are for Lancaster and Lebanon County library stakeholders, including AccessPA member libraries, for the purpose of providing pertinent information concerning technology tools, ethical and legal issues, and professional development opportunities. In addition, time will be devoted for new learning and exploration for the integration of IMS and other tools/strategies supporting all content area curricula.
