These annual tours give educators a chance to step outside the classroom and into local industries to learn about a variety of occupations, projected job growth, and new...
Lancaster County Workforce Development Board and Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 are pleased to announce the 2025 Lebanon County Industry Tours for Educators. These annual tours give educators a chance to step outside the classroom and into local industries to learn about a variety of occupations, projected job growth, and new technology. *TBD Additional Information: *Lunch is provided *Transportation will be provided, with pickup and drop-off at IU13. *Due to liability and space, attendees will not be permitted to drive themselves or transport other educators to the various locations. Please note that transportation will be via school buses. *Tours will involve physical activity including walking. *For safety and following company policies, all attendees must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Tank tops, shorts and dresses/skirts are not permitted. Please ensure your attire meets these requirements. Cost: There is no cost to participating educators. Registration: *Open to educators in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. *Space is limited! Please ensure that you are registered in Frontline for both your district and IU13. In this interactive professional learning experience, we'll dive into the Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMPs) to explore their impact on student learning. You'll gain a deeper understanding of these essential practices and apply them to refine or create lessons that promote mathematical reasoning, discourse, and sense-making. Walk away with practical strategies and ready-to-use lesson ideas that empower students to think and reason like mathematicians! This blended learning experience includes a 3-hour synchronous virtual workshop with a 3-hour asynchronous component for reflection and lesson application.
